Religious Trauma Practitioner Cohort
The purpose of this cohort is to foster a deepened understanding, practical skills, and advanced training to increase the effectiveness in their work with clients who have come out of high control religions, cults, and fundamentalism.
We will cover one module each month; each month will include topical teachings which will be supported by interventions, skills and supplemental resources. Additionally, the topics covered in each module can be the focus of case consultations, question + answer sessions, and the Discord channel, including “office hours”.
Each module focuses on a specific aspect of religious trauma recovery. Modules 1-4 act as a foundation. These modules will focus on trauma through a physiological lens, religious trauma as complex trauma, and understanding dynamics and impacts of high control religion, spiritual abuse, and adverse religious experiences (AREs). Modules 5-9 encompass themes of healing that many religious trauma survivors navigate. Skills and interventions in these modules will focus on specific interventions to foster these themes of healing as well as more generalized interventions that may help a traumatized individual. Module 10 serves the purpose of helping the practitioner recognize the holistic impact of trauma and an integrated approach to living in a healing body.
